To open an account with us, simply head to the Sign Up page on our website, or download the Remium app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Once there, follow the on-screen instructions to apply for your account. The process is straightforward and you’ll be guided through each step from registration to verification.

As a UK financial institution, Remium is required to obtain a self-certification of tax residency from all clients. This information is necessary to comply with international tax reporting regulations, including the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). These rules are designed to help prevent offshore tax evasion.

Yes. Remium can accept applications from non-UK individuals and businesses, subject to our compliance checks and jurisdictional restrictions. We do not support clients who are residents, tax residents, incorporated, or operating from countries under UK or international sanctions, or outside of our industry/country risk appetite.

Sending money to new recipient with Remium is simple and secure. Follow these steps to pay someone new:

1. Login to your Remium account: Open the Remium mobile app or desktop version and enter your login credentials.
2. Navigate to the ‘Payments’ Section.
3. Select your recipient: If you haven’t created the recipient yet, select ‘Create Recipient’ and input the requested recipient information.
4. Enter the payment information: Once you have created and selected your recipient, enter the amount your wish to send, the reference and payment purpose. In addition, your can also upload a supporting document such as an invoice if you wish to. This can speed up payment processing times should our compliance team have any questions regarding the background of the payment. From here, click ‘Continue’.
5. Review the payment: Once you click Continue, you will proceed onto the final screen. Here, you can check the payment information one last time before confirming the payment. 
6. Confirm and Send: Once you’re satisfied, click Confirm Payment to authorise the transfer. You’ll receive an on-screen confirmation and, where applicable, an email notification when the payment is successfully processed.

Expanding your Remium account to include multiple currencies is simple and convenient. Just follow these steps:

1. Log into your Account: Open the Remium app or desktop site and enter your login credentials.
2. Go to Your Profile: From the main dashboard, tap or click on your Profile.
3. Navigate to Linked Accounts: Within your profile settings, select Linked Accounts.
4. Add a New Currency: Under your account, choose the Add Currency option.
5. Choose the Desired Currency: Browse the list of available currencies and select the one you’d like to add.
6. Confirm and Add: Review the currency details and tap Confirm to add it to your account.
7. Start Using Your New Currency: Once added, your new currency is available immediately for payments, foreign exchange, and more.

You can authorise someone else to manage your Remium account, whether you’re an individual or a business, but this must meet our verification and documentation requirements.

If you’re a business, you may authorise a director, representative, or another designated individual to act on behalf of the company. We’ll require supporting documents such as board resolutions, company mandates, or proof of authority as well as required personal documentation for the individual.

If you’re an individual, the person must hold a valid Power of Attorney (POA) for your financial affairs. We’ll need a copy of the POA document and may ask for further identification before access is approved.

We keep your balance as accurate and up to date as possible across types of activity:

• Card Payments: Your balance is updated immediately when we receive authorisation for a purchase or cash withdrawal.
• Bank Transfers: Outgoing transfers reduce your available balance upon submission and incoming transfers increase your balance when the funds are received and cleared.
• Currency Exchange (FX): When you exchange currencies, your balance updates instantly once the exchange has been confirmed. The sell amount is immediately deducted from your available balance once the exchange has been submitted. 
• Refunds: If a merchant issues a refund, your balance is updated as soon as we receive the funds. This usually takes 3-5 working days, depending on the merchant and card network. You’ll see the refunded amount added to your available balance once it clears.

Your available balance always reflects the funds you can spend right now, even if some transactions (like refunds or payments) are still being processed in the background.

To view and share your account details safely, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Remium account and access the account you want to view.
2. Select the currency account you’re interested in and click on the Account Details tab.
3. Your full account details will be displayed. Tap ‘Share Account Details‘ if you’d like to send them to someone else.

Each of your currency accounts has its own unique details, so only share them with individuals or businesses you trust.

Losing your phone can be stressful, especially when it’s linked to your banking app. Follow these steps immediately to protect your Remium account and financial information:

1. Act Quickly: Time is crucial. As soon as you realise your phone is lost or stolen, take immediate action.
2. Lock Your Phone: Use your device’s management service to lock it remotely (iPhone: Use Find My iPhone and Android: Use Find my Device). This helps prevent unauthorised access to your apps and data.
3. Report the Loss to Your Mobile Carrier: Contact your mobile provider and request that they suspend your service to stop unauthorised calls, texts, or SIM swaps.
4. Secure Your Remium Account: Log into your Remium account from a computer or tablet and immediately change your password: Go to Settings, Change Password and follow the instructions. This will block access from the lost device. Don’t forget to change the phone number associated with your account if required.
5. Monitor Your Account: Review your account regularly for any suspicious activity. Enable transaction alerts to stay informed of any unusual behaviour.
6. Contact Remium Client Services: Visit the Support section in the app or website to get in touch with our team. We’re available 24/7 to help you secure your account and provide further assistance.
7. Report to Authorities: If your phone was stolen, file a report with the local police and provide any necessary details.
